At Prairie Optometry, our mission is: To serve and add value!

Dr. Kristine Wilkinson started practicing optometry in 2009 in Australia. She and her husband Ryan moved back home to Saskatoon in 2010. Not long after, she had the opportunity to start working with Dr. Hank Drexler. Dr. Wilkinson was grateful to start her career in a well-established practice that has been servicing a wide range of Saskatoon and surrounding area since 1989. In 2013, the clinic was renamed to Prairie Optometry to honor our roots and the patients we serve. Dr. Sheryl Piteau joined the practice in 2016 and it has been growing and expanding since.
As an optometrist office, we strive to stay up to date with equipment and technology to serve our clients in the best way possible. Our doctors and staff place a high value on staying informed with the newest treatments and practices in eye care by routinely participating in continuing education. We offer convenient day, evening, and weekend hours to best serve your needs. We offer direct billing to many insurance plans for your convenience. Our two locations, Downtown 116A Idylwyld Dr. N. and Stonebridge 140-3010 Preston Ave. S. both offer free easy parking and disability access. Whether you have been a patient with us for years or are a first time patient, we look forward to hearing from you and seeing you!

Our Team

Dr. Kristine Wilkinson

Dr. Kristine Wilkinson was born and raised in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. On completion of high school in 1999 at Clavet Composite School, she attended the University of Saskatchewan graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree. Afterwards she moved to Melbourne, Australia and completed her Optometry Degree from the University of Melbourne.
Upon graduating from the University of Melbourne in 2008, Dr. Wilkinson enjoyed working in and exploring much of Australia. Her favorite place being Broome, Western Australia!
In 2010, she and her husband Ryan moved back to Saskatoon. Dr. Wilkinson worked with Dr. Hank Drexler and purchased his practice in the fall of 2013. And since then apart from their work they are busy raising their 5 children; Logan, Anna, June, Greta and William!

Dr. Sheryl Piteau

Dr. Sheryl Piteau grew up in rural Saskatchewan. She attended the University of Regina before entering the Doctor of Optometry program at the University of Waterloo. She graduated in 2002, completing her degree with honours.
Her love of the prairies and family drew Dr. Piteau back to Saskatoon where she was part of a family optometry practice before transitioning to her role at Prairie Optometry in 2016.
When not seeing patients, you are likely to find Dr. Piteau baking, exploring the great outdoors or cheering at her children's sporting events.

Selena

Office Manager
I grew up in Calgary AB, got married in 1999 moved to Saskatoon with my husband Rob and 2 children in 2000. I've been at the office since 2009 when it was Dr. Drexler, have been with Dr.Wilkinson since 2013 when she purchased the practice.
I enjoy camping, travelling and spending time with family and friends.

Janess

Optometric Assistant
I was born in a small town, farming community in Saskatchewan. When i was a teenager I moved to Saskatoon where i finished high school and achieved a Bachelor degree at the University of Saskatchewan.
In 2005 my husband David, and I were married. We have 2 daughters and 1 son.
I began working at Prairie Optometry in 2013.
Faith, family and friends are very important to me.
I also enjoy travelling, baking, scrapbooking, listening to music and taking walks by the river.

Jazmin

Optometric Assistant
I was born and raised in Vancouver, BC and moved to Saskatchewan April 2020. My husband is from Saskatchewan and we got married in May of 2020. I started working at Prairie Optometry in May of 2020. Previous to that, I worked at an optometry clinic in BC for 3 years. In my spare time I love spending time with my husband and son going on adventures, traveling, cooking and spending time with friends and family.

Maria

Licensed Optical Professional
Maria Jones L.O. is a licensed optical professional committed to delivering accurate, evidence-based vision care. With a strong emphasis on clinical precision and patient outcomes, she works together closely with the Doctor’s to ensure the best care is provided for our patients. She brings 23 years of eyecare experience to our practice and is very passionate about supporting locally owned businesses which was a major factor in her decision to work with our clinic.

Romina

Optical Laboratory Assistant
Romina is an Optical Laboratory Assistant at Prairie Optometry, where she has been part of the team since Fall 2025. She is responsible for precise lens and frame measurements and performs detailed quality checks to ensure accuracy and comfort.
Romina has over a year of experience in optical dispensing. She moved to Canada with her family in 2023, later relocating to Saskatoon in 2025 for professional growth. She holds a University Degree in Information Technology from the Philippines and a Diploma in Business Management in BC.
Outside of work, she values faith and family above all, which guide both her personal life and professional dedication to caring for others.
